Carroty Wood 2025

Carroty Wood camp is aimed at primary and secondary school children and teens from the Church in Bassett Street and beyond, with older teens being given opportunities to develop leadership skills among the younger ones. 

The camp is set in the beautiful Kent woodland near to Tonbridge and is a wonderful mix of campfires, walks in the woods, sports, making new friends, great food, fun crafts and competitions, tuck shop and trading post and a number of sessions in a fantastic indoor swimming pool. 

At the heart of it all is the simple goal of coming near to Jesus. During the meeting times, there are powerful and challenging messages and times of praise, worship, and prayer to God. Each year at the camp a number of children become Christians and many hearts and lives are touched. 

Where?

We will be camping in the woods at Carroty Wood, Higham Lane, Tonbridge, Kent TN11 9QX.

Who?

This weekend is for children and young people (primary and secondary age) who are part of a church group, and their friends. Parent/carers are very welcome to come and help us on this weekend. Children in Year 4 or below need to come with a parent/carer.

When?

If travelling from London by coach, we will be leaving from outside the Church in Bassett Street (21 Bassett St, London, NW5 4PG) at 5.30pm Friday afternoon July 18th and returning at approximately 5.30pm Sunday afternoon July 20th. 

Cost?

£40 per person. There is sponsorship available so please get in touch with Jo West if you need help towards the cost.

Kit?

Please bring changes of clothes (including some very old clothes for the low ropes course), waterproof coat/jacket, flip flops, trainers, swimming kit, torch, pillow, sleeping bag (thin mattresses are provided but bring an air bed if you need more luxury!), pyjamas, wash stuff and spending money (we suggest bringing £5-10 in coins for any souvenirs and sweets). Please do not bring any computer games, tablets or other gadgets, nor any valuables.
